Welcome to ESLCESLC was advertised by the Ministry of Social Solidarity at May 2009 aiming at proper HCC management in Egypt through organizing international and national congresses as a main activity of the society.As we know, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is considered as one of the most important sanitary problems over the world for its high prevalence and for its poor prognosis. HCC is becoming recognized as an early complication and the most frequent cause of death in persons with viral-associated cirrhosis The problem of HCC will increase due to high prevalence of HCV infection in Egypt until it reaches its peak nearly in year 2018. HCC as it is a highly malignant tumour with a very poor prognosis so early detection and treatment are required. The theme of the conference is updating the aspects of screening, diagnosis and appropriate treatment of HCC to reach clear applicable national guidelines for implementation in all national centers that deal with HCC. This target will be achieved through a multidisciplinary approach. The event promises to be unique scientific activity in HCC control through participation of all national centers of control of viral hepatitis allover the country which will carry the main task in the national HCC screening program as a first step. Great appreciation to the National committee for Control of Viral Hepatitis (NCCVH) and to all members who volunteered their time to make this conference successful and fruitful.
